Snoop Dogg Puts The Top Down And Hits The Beach In His Summer Ready Single ‘Go On’

You can feel it in the air can’t you? The weather is warming up. The smell of BBQ grills are beginning to fill the air. Summer is almost here, and it can’t come a minute to soon. One figure who seems more ready than most to bring on the warmest and most carefree season of the year is Snoop Dogg.

Today, the Doggfather shared a brand new cut from his upcoming album Neva Left that’s packed with allusions to the best motifs of Summer. Rapping over a breezy R&B-tinged musical backdrop produced by Brody Brown, Snoops brings out visions of driving down the street with the top down and hitting up an afternoon pool party.

The Long Beach legend seems like he’s in a good place, and can’t wait to hit the shoreline or the park with his grandson. “I’m feeling hella good / I’m doin thangs that you never would / Like surfin with the sharks, or shootin in the dark / Riding on a bike with my grandson at the park / Evolve while I elevate, take flight, levitate / Breakfast for dinner, I’m cold as a mother, but the summer ain’t the winter.”

Snoop’s 15th studio album Neva Left is set to drop at the end of this week on Friday. You can hear the latest cut from that project “Go On,” in the Soundcloud player above.
