Wiz Khalifa, Chevy Woods And Tuki Carter’s ‘Isaac Hayes’ Is A Certified Banger

It’s been a while since I’ve sat down listened to anything Wiz Khalifa related. After he’d gotten signed to Atlantic, the music didn’t move me the way Kush and Orange Juice did. Taylor Allerdice, which was probably the closest thing die-hard fans got to Kush and Orange Juice, was the last time I’d paid any real attention to what he was doing before I just checked out. So when I saw the Taylor Gang track, I was fully prepared to be underwhelmed. As it turned out, I was pleasantly surprised.

Taylor Gang is comprised of rappers Chevy Woods, Tuki Carter, and Wiz Khalifa. In support of their forthcoming mixtape Taylor Gang Vol. 1, they’ve released the ID Labs produced “Isaac Hayes.”  The song could’ve easily been found on Wiz’s earlier work, as the heavy bass and hypnotic hook are sure to immediately wrap listeners up. Tuki Carter is first up on the track and sets things off with a strong intro verse.

“Look and I’m just used to grindin’
And I’m just used to two bad ones, you know like Frankie Lymon
I used to sit on my porch and torch up that smoke
Get high and observe a few folks
Go get a six-pack and where your b*tch at?
I bust down four times like Kit-Kat”

Simple in its saying but delivered effectively nonetheless. Each artist manages to bring their respective skill-set to the song and everything just works in a seamless way that makes the song instantly replayable. As of now, the mixtape doesn’t have a release date but if they keep cooking up fire like “Isaac Hayes” folks will definitely want to keep an eye out for when it drops.
