With this week's bloodletting over at “SNL” making headlines – cast members Noel Wells, John Milhiser and Brooks Wheelan were all “fired” from the NBC series after a single season – we got to thinking of all the hugely-talented individuals who also had short-lived stints on the late-night stalwart before going on to win fame and fortune with other projects. So naturally, we decided to make a list of some of our favorites and share it with all of you.
While not all the performers in the below gallery were actually terminated from the show – a few quit, and one left before appearing in even a single episode – all went on to prove that not cutting it on “Saturday Night Live” is far from a career catastrophe. Or at least, it doesn't have to be.
