Superhero genre, meet the hip-hop generation.

Starz announced today that it”s partnering with rap mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson for a superhero vigilante series. Tomorrow, Today will not only be produced by the Grammy winner, but he also wrote the pilot.

The network said in a statement, “Tomorrow, Today is a superhero-themed series about a veteran from the south side of Chicago who, after being falsely imprisoned, becomes the personal experiment of a mad prison doctor trying to create the perfect man – and an unstoppable killing machine. Set free, but on the run, the veteran must reconcile with the world that has turned against him, and use his newfound abilities for good.”

At the Television Critics Association press tour, Jackson added, “This is a project I”ve been working on for some time…It”s exciting to watch how people respond to the material because they hadn”t seen me as a writer.” He notes that he wrote the script three times before he took it to the network.

This is not the first time that Starz has partnered with 50 Cent. The network is currently working with him on Power, one of the biggest shows on the network.

Tomorrow, Today will also be produced by Anthony Cipriano of Bates Motel and Dan Kay, who wrote the script for the upcoming movie I.T.
