‘Star Wars: Rogue One’ toys give away Jyn Erso’s military rank and confirm THIS planet

If you”re the kind of person that thinks official marketing or merchandising releases can be spoilers, you”re gonna have a bad time in this post. Make haste away before you accidentally learn something that will darken your film going experience this December!

As for the rest of us? Let”s take a look at the latest releases from Hasbro”s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story toy line!

Today two new additions to the Star Wars ‘Black Series” of toys were unveiled. Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and a specialized stormtrooper join the line-up. After her SDCC Exclusive this past July, the new 6-inch action figure will be Erso”s second entry to the ‘Black Series.” And her new iteration gives fans a just the tiniest sliver of new information: her military rank.

If we”re using American military rankings, Erso being a Sergeant puts her in charge of a small group of troops. Which makes sense as that is exactly what we”ve seen in the trailers. (Also, is that  a lightsaber off to the left there?) The box is also the first canon mention of the planet of Eadu, though the name did appear in Chapter 3 of the official Rogue One fan contest by a character named Pao.

Assuming the fan film is utilizing accurate information, Eadu looks like the rocky, rainy planet from the trailer where Baze Malbus (Jiang Wen) says “They destroyed our home” while blasting at stormtroopers pouring out of a landing ship. What Jyn is doing on Eadu is obviously still under wraps, but she is not alone. If this Nerf gun is to be believed, Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) is with her.

Along with the two new Eadu toys, Hasbro also unveiled a new specialized stormtrooper unit. One that should look familiar to anyone who has watched the trailer or tried to translate this sign. Meet the Hovertank Pilot, who will keep the peace on the streets if it means blowing the peasants to smithereens.
