Sony Pictures released a :30 teaser to its Super Bowl spot for “Amazing Spider-Man 2” tonight and it continues to suggest that Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) may meet her comic book fate on the big screen. We won’t go into the grizzly details, but Stone herself hinted about what might happen to her character during an interview with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday noting, “I think the intention the whole time has been to tell Gwen”s story has closely to the comic as possible.”
Of course, this :30 teaser to another :30 spot on Super Bowl Sunday doesn’t show much except everyone’s favorite Wall Crawler attempting to save a falling Stacy. A Stacy wearing an iconic outfit from the classic comic series that you can read more about here.
Beyond the Stacy subplot, the teaser also includes more Electro (Jamie Foxx), a Transformer, er, we mean Rhino (Paul Giamatti) and Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan). You can watch it embedded at the top of this post.
