Best and Worst of ‘St. Vincent’: Bill Murray, Naomi Watts, Melissa McCarthy

This is a good weekend to be a Bill Murray fan.  The legendary actor back in his first real leading role in a long, long time (sorry “Hyde Park on the Hudson” that was Laura Linney's flick) and it's a good one.

“St. Vincent” tells the familiar story of a cranky older man (Murray) who ends up taking a young boy (Jaeden Lieberher) under his wing to hand down some life lessons while learning a few new ones himself.  The directorial debut of Theodore Melfi, the film has earned good reviews since it debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and opened in limited release earlier this month.  Now, “Vincent” has hit theaters across the nation and Murray fans are getting their fill.  That also means it's a good time to finally put “Vincent” under HitFix's best and worst microscope.
