Bill Hader returning to ‘Saturday Night Live’ as a host this October

“Saturday Night Live” is going to bring back another old cast member to host this season.  NBC announced this morning that Bill Hader, who was on the show for eight seasons, will be back in 8H for the October 11th episode.  He originally left the show in 2013.

The sketch comedy series has a long tradition of bringing back former cast members to host, and this isn't the first former cast member who will take on the responsibility here on the show's 40th season.  It was previously announced that Sarah Silverman, who was on the show for a single year, would host the October 4th episode.

For the Hader-hosted episode, the musical guest will be Hozier (Maroon 5 will be there for the Silverman episode) who currently has a single, “Take me to Church,” on the alternative radio charts.  Hozier has an album due out in October.

The new season of “SNL” gets started on September 28th, with “Parks and Recreation” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Pratt as the host.  Ariana Grande will be the musical guest.
