The original video was a bonafide sensation that broke the record for all-time views on Facebook Live. Now, Chewbacca Mom has reached the ultimate level of success: An appearance on a Late Night program.
On the latest episode of The Late Late Show, James Corden invited Payne to hang out on the couch and chat about the origins of the video (“I wanted to prove to all my Facebook friends and family that that mask was mine,” she said, noting that her kids would immediately take the toy once they discovered it). But the fun didn't stop there – Corden surprised Payne with a message from Peter Mayhew, the original Chewbacca actor, and an in-person appearance from J.J. Abrams.
