Cosplay is the art of dressing up as one of your favorite fictional characters. It can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it. But some cosplayers go above and beyond! Every Tuesday, we feature one of these dedicated hobbyists, along with some information about their chosen cosplay.
This week the spotlight is on 0Hidan0 and his fantastic Daryl Dixon costume.
What's your name?
My name is Dastan but friends call me Ro! It's an old nickname some of my friends gave me.
What made you want to cosplay as this?
I love “The Walking Dead,” and my absolute favorite character is Daryl Dixon. He is a tough and strong fighter. But he has a heart of gold.
How long did it take to create the costume?
Hmmm. All together, I think I worked on it for four or five months. The design of the wings was difficult to perfect and I had to weather the clothes.
How much did it cost?
The costume itself was 200-300 Euro ($218-$327 USD). The crossbow was 200 Euro ($218 USD).
Do you have favorite comic-con memory from this cosplay?
Oh, I have lots of them! So many people are fans of Daryl! I”m very happy to see how excited people get when they realize that someone is cosplaying as him! They wanna take selfies, they wanna have hugs, and someone even wanted to marry me, lol. That one was strange.
