‘Doctor Who’s’ Peter Capaldi surprises fan at children’s hospital

“Doctor Who's” Twelfth Doctor visited massive “Doctor Who” fan, 14-year old Daniel, in a London's children's hospital recently. Daniel, who wasn't able to attend the “Doctor Who” festival due to an illness, got a very special treat when Capaldi showed up in his hospital room.

It's always wonderful to see celebrities visit fans in the hospital, especially when they can do it in character! According to Metro UK, Daniel is currently overcoming Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), conditions which affect connective tissue in the body and the heart rate. Because Daniel is a huge “Doctor Who” fan and could not attend the festival, Capaldi brought “Doctor Who” to him.

The campaign to bring someone from “Doctor Who” to visit Daniel was started by Geek Syndicate and Bad Wilf. You can see Peter Capaldi visiting Daniel in both Twitter videos below:

Steven Moffat also surprised Daniel by prerecording a video message for him, which can be seen below:

Capaldi joins a long list of generous actors who have visited fans in the hospital, including Christian Bale, Chris Evens, Chris Pratt and Johnny Depp. This is surely a memory young Daniel will never forget. Merry Christmas Daniel!

The “Doctor Who” Christmas Special airs December 25 at 9/8C on BBC America.
