Exclusive clip: Girl gets gross surprise on ‘Untold Stories of the ER’

Have you ever put a bug in someone’s ear? Literally? Probably not, but it turns out bugs can get in there, and the pain is so intense you might end up writhing and bucking so hard people think you’re having convulsions. Learn something new every day! In this exclusive clip from “Untold Stories of the ER” (airs Sun. Oct. 27 at 9:00 p.m. on Discovery Fit & Health, then repeats Sat. Nov. 2 at 9:00 p.m.), see what a bug in your ear really looks like. Consider this your warning. Also, don’t watch this right before you eat.

If this clip whets your appetite for gross stuff, the entire episode has more goodies. On the show, Dr. Ruthie Crider has her hands full when two young female patients are admitted into the ER at the same time, both experiencing seizures. The causes of seizures turn out to be drastically different. An elderly man with breathing problems enters Dr. Cassius Drake”s ER. But the only way to save the man”s collapsing lung is by utilizing a type of thoracic catheter that Dr. Drake has never used before. Dr. Ryan Misek”s patient is a belly dancer who collapsed at a local hooka bar. It looks like a drug overdose, but something much more unusual and dangerous is actually the cause.
