Exclusive: The Cover Art For ‘The Sandman: Overture #4’ Is Magical

Twenty-five years after his introduction, Neil Gaiman has been taking us back to the beginning with Dream in 'The Sandman: Overture.' Every family has secrets and Gaiman has been slowly doling out those of The Endless with the help of the superb art of J.H. Williams III.

So far the series has bee a dizzying slow burn of exposition, fan favorite character cameos, and lovingly lush art that feels more like a woven tapestry…complete with hidden details on repeat viewings. How did Morpheus come to be captured prior to the beginning of 'The Sandman'? That is the question 'Overture' promises to answer by the end of its run. Issues one and two are already on store shelves, with the third installment set to release at on July 30th.

But Vertigo is already looking ahead to the next issue. “In an asylum in the City of the Stars, Morpheus comes face to face with the creature at the center of the war that will destroy the universe. Time is running out…” HitFix is happy to reveal the first look at the cover art that goes along with the story for 'Sandman: Overture #4' this October.
