First look at Star Wars ‘Season of the Force’ at Disneyland

Ever since Star Wars Land was announced at D23 back in August, fans of both “Star Wars” and Disney Parks have been eager to find out when they can expect this “Star Wars” takeover to begin. While Star Wars Land won't be finished for another two – three years, in lieu of Star Wars Celebration this year, both Disney Parks are hosting a “Season of the Force”, which begins at Disneyland in Anaheim November 16 and at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida on December 1.

Disneyland began this “Star Wars” transformation last week, as new signs went up in Tomorrowland for Super Hero HQ, Path of the Jedi, Hyperspace Mountain, Season of the Force and Star Tours The Journey Continues.

At “Hyperspace Mountain”, fans will be able to climb into an X-Wing and take part in an epic battle between X-Wings and Tie-Fighters. At “Star Wars Launch Bay” visitors will be able to chose between the light side and the dark side of the force, by meeting either Darth Vader or Chewbacca. Props from all seven films will be on-hand to view, including Jedi and Sith lightsabers and Rebel pilot gear. At “Star Wars Path of the Jedi” visitors can sit in the 4-D theater and watch classic scenes from all six “Star Wars” films and an early look at “Episode VII”.

Star Tours is also getting an upgrade. It will now be called “Star Tours The Journey Continues” and will take guests through a simulation of the Millennium Falcon tracking Tie-Fighters through a fallen Star Destroyer on Jakku! Disney released an early peak at this scene on Youtube:

“Star Wars Season of the Force” begins at Disneyland November 16 and Hollywood Studios December 1, 2015.
