‘Preacher’ ordered to series while first poster turns the world upside-down

UPDATE – 9/9/15 5:40PM EDT: Hot of the heels of the poster reveal, AMC has officially announced that “Preacher” has been ordered to series. Developed for television by Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg, “Preacher” is based on the 90s Vertigo comic of the same name by Garth Ennis.

AMC has ordered 10 one-hour episodes. No solid premiere date was given, but a time frame of mid-2016 was announced with the series pick-up news.

“Preacher” stars Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper, “Agent Carter”), Tulip (Ruth Negga, “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”),and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun, “This Is England”).

Nothing major to add here folks. It's exactly what it says on the tin.

Over on Twitter today,Seth Rogen revealed the official poster for AMC's latest roll of the dice. And what a roll it is. After all, the premise of “Preacher” is quite literally about a reverend, his ex-girlfriend, and a vampire seeking out God – who is MIA – to get some answers about this upstart abomination named Genesis.

You know, just good clean family fun.
