Leonardo DiCaprio on Martin Scorsese: ‘still punk rock’ at Golden Globes

LOS ANGELES – Leonardo DiCaprio kept his cool backstage at the Golden Globes, after taking home the win for Best Actor for a comedy/musical (a designation for his “Wolf of Wall Street” that even he at the ceremony admitted was comical). But he is still excitable working with director Martin Scorsese.

“He encouraged all of us, all the actors to improvise, and re-improvise that improvisation and be free, and really push the boundaries every single day we were on set,” DiCaprio said to seated press at the Beverly Hilton as the Awards were finishing up. “I’m just thankful that Martin Scorsese is still this punk rock, still this vital at 71 years old. There’s no filmmakers left like this.”
