Join the congregation after the show; AMC announces ‘Talking Preacher’

AMC and Chris Hardwick are expanding their line-up of live after shows yet again. First came The Talking Dead, then Talking Saul, and now? Talking Preacher. Talk shows and Twitter have replaced the water cooler in the time of Peak TV™. But not all after shows are created equal.

Unlike The Talking Dead, which aired immediately after each episode of The Walking Dead, sister-show Talking Preacher will only air twice. Once after the 90-minute season premiere of Preacher and once after the finale episode. Hosted by Chris Hardwick, each hour-long episode will feature series creators, cast, producers, and celebrity fans to discuss and analyze the granular details of the show.

From the press release:

“It”s very clear that Chris Hardwick knows how to lead and navigate a conversation about hordes of zombies on ‘Talking Dead” and shifty lawyers on ‘Talking Saul,” so we can”t wait to see how he”ll handle this new batch of insanely, out-of-this-world characters from ‘Preacher,” said Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV. “It”s amazing to see Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon”s comic creation come to life and I know that Chris and our special guests on ‘Talking Preacher” will have a great time engaging fans in a lively discussion around this twisted and unpredictable new series.”

While Preacher will debut on Sunday, May 22 at 10:00pm EDT, Talking Preacher will air the following weekend. The first episode will immediately follow an encore presentation of the 90-minute Preacher on Sunday, May 29 at 10:30PM EDT. The second installment will air on Sunday, July 31st at 10:00PM EDT after the Preacher season finale.

Now if only AMC would greenlight an after show for Into the Badlands!
