The Young Pope, a joint production between Sky, HBO, and Canal+, stars Jude Law as the controversial, cigarette-smoking, and fictional Pope Pius XIII. Today, Sky released a short teaser for the eight-episode miniseries, which was created and directed by Pablo Sorrentino.
There's not much to the teaser, but an earlier HBO press release describes Law's Pope as a “complex and conflicted character, so conservative in his choices as to border on obscurantism, yet full of compassion towards the weak and poor.” The Young Pope will air later this year on HBO.
