‘Justice League’ is happening, as of April 11

After years of development, it looks like we will finally get that Justice League movie: The first in what should be a series of films is set to begin shooting on April 11, according to Entertainment Weekly.

And EW got it straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak: Zack Snyder, who directed Man of Steel and the upcoming Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and will be directing this movie as well. So he gets two weeks to bask in the glow of B v. S's box office numbers (assuming they're good) before getting back to work.

“It's a long time coming,” Snyder told EW. “But I do feel like it's a little bit of a creative hurdle. It seems like an easy thing to do at first glance, the idea that, 'Oh, we just get the rest of the superheroes in there.' But you have to [establish] a world where they can exist.”

As the EW article points out, we'll get a glimpse of the Justice League members in Batman v. Superman: The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg have cameos while Wonder Woman and, of course, Batman and Superman play more significant roles. There are standalone movies for many of those characters planned through 2020.

Justice League – Part 1 comes out November 17, 2017.
