Kate Winslet takes control in ‘Divergent’s’ Winter Olympics trailer

Sports fans got a special look at the upcoming YA adaptation “Divergent” during the Winter Olympics this week, with the debut of a new trailer featuring Kate Winslet on the hunt for Shailene Woodley and other Divergents.

In the film’s dystopian future, society is split up according to individuals’ personalities. Those who can’t be easily classified are labeled “Divergent” — and they pose a threat to the totalitarian government, personified by Oscar winner Winslet. After intoning, “The future belongs to those who know where they belong,” she executes Order 66 and demands the assassination of all Divergents. Will our heroine Tris (Woodley) fight back?

Directed by Neil Burger (“Limitless”), “Divergent” also stars Theo James, Maggie Q, Ansel Elgort, Ray Stevenson, Zoe Kravitz, Ashley Judd, and Miles Teller.

A sequel, “Insurgent,” is already being planned. The films are based on a series of books by Veronica Roth.

“Divergent” opens March 21.
