‘Fantastic Four’ star Michael B. Jordan shrugs off Jimmy Kimmel’s race questions

In the new “Fantastic Four” reboot, Michael B. Jordan and Kate Mara play brother and sister. Jordan is black. Mara is white. Jimmy Kimmel wants to know how that works, but Jordan doesn”t think the siblings” skin color is worth questioning.

When Jordan visited “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night, the host said to the actor, “Now, Kate Mara – don”t know if you know this – is a white person.”

That got some chuckles from the late night audience, but what got them cheering was Jordan”s response. After pointing out the obvious – that there are plenty of people who have siblings of different races – Jordan (who plays Johnny Storm in “Fantastic Four”) said, “It”s kind of self-explanatory. It”s one of the things I don”t like drawing attention to – the ignorance sometimes. You gotta let it be what it is.”

“There”s a thing called adoption,” he added.

Check out the clip of Jordan”s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” appearance below, along with another clip in which the actor reveals that he hasn”t met the basketball legend who shares his name – not yet at least.

And here, Kimmel and Jordan chat about the superstar former Chicago Bulls player.

“Fantastic Four” opens in theaters on August 7, 2015.
