The world of recap TV shows just got a little more crowded.
MTV announced today that fans of its horror series Scream will get a chance to ponder the murderous ongoings in Lakewood with the recap show Scream After Dark. The program will air periodically throughout Scream“s season, with the debut episode following the premier of season two.
The show will be hosted by actor/writer Jeffery Self who wrote on Twitter that he was “so excited” about his new gig.
Scream has provided solid ratings for MTV, a network that is struggling to reestablish its identity. The pilot drew just over 1 million viewers, and, for the season, averaged just over 750,000 viewers.
Scream kicks off its new season on May 30 at 11pm ET. The recap show is immediately following.
