Marvel has been full steam ahead with their Netflix comic book series. With Luke Cage recently debuted to tons of fan love and Iron Fist's first trailer, what's next? The Punisher and the team-up series, The Defenders! Marvel dropped some big news on that front at New York Comic Con.
Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, and Finn Jones, are The Defenders but we just found out at NYCC that none other than Sigourney Weaver would be their villain. Surprise!
They also debuted the first full Iron Fist trailer. “K'un-Lun saved him. Lei Kung trained him. And now, Danny Rand is back to fight for what's his.”
Safe to say, Marvel really knows how to Comic Con.

There was one other big bit of news to come out of the Marvel/Netflix panel. We already knew Jon Bernthal, who played Frank Castle/The Punisher in Daredevil, was getting his own solo series but they announced Daredevil's Karen Page, Deborah Ann Woll, would be joining him for the ride. “Marvel is honored to have an actress of her caliber and status join what is already our biggest show ever! She is by definition a class act,” said Jeph Loeb, Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television.
There were some other new additions to The Punisher cast recently as well according to Marvel:
Ben Barnes (“The Chronicles of Narnia”) joins the cast as Billy Russo, Frank”s Castle”s best friend from his days in the Special Forces. He runs a successful private military corporation called “Anvil.””
Ebon Moss-Bachrach (“Girls”) will play Micro, a former NSA analyst whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle and everyone around them.
And Amber Rose Revah (“Indian Summers,” “Son of God”) joins as Dinah Madani, a highly-trained sophisticated Homeland Security agent who is vexed by the Punisher.
Now here's some of the best behind-the-scenes shots from the actors at NYCC.
