New ‘Batman v Superman’ TV spots premiere, Batman still looks pretty screwed

Some new “Batman v Superman” spots showed up during yesterday's football playoffs, and, well, I don't see how this is even a contest between Superman and Batman. Basically, Superman is the Carolina Panthers here and Batman is the Arizona Cardinals.

In the first spot, we've got Clark Kent furious over Batman's “one-man reign of terror” and demanding that he cover it for the Daily Planet. But his boss, Perry White, seems to think that's not very interesting to their readership (which, really? I guess when you have Superman in your backyard what some guy does in Gotham City is small potatoes, but still). So Clark takes matters into his own hands and warns Batman that “the bat is dead” while Batman stands around in the wreckage of his smoking/kind-of-on-fire Batmobile.

In the next spot, shown from Batman's point of view, Bruce Wayne tells an understandably apprehensive Alfred that he's going to “go to war” with Superman.

“He has the power to wipe out the entire human race,” Wayne says. This seems like a great reason why you shouldn't go to war with him, but Batman's gonna go for it anyway! “If we believe there's even a one percent chance that he is our enemy, we have to take it as an absolute certainty,” Wayne continues, looking very intense.

He doesn't mention being in possession of any kryptonite, though, so … good luck with that, Batman. RIP Batman.
