Oh no. The ‘Peanuts’ movie is stealing lines from Zooey Deschanel.

Unfortunately I have to tell you that “The Peanuts Movie” is using a Zooey Deschanel catchphrase to describe one of its classic characters. Do I like Zooey Deschanel? Yes! But I think it's kind of a shame that a classic comic strip is lifting ad copy from a 2010s Fox series. In fact, I feel like the Red Baron just socked me in the gut.

Here's the new poster featuring Marcie, who is easily one of the greatest comic strip characters of all time. She trolled Peppermint Patty like an actual troll, lingering behind her with murmured objections all day. Here's how “The Peanuts Movie,” out November 6, is choosing to describe Marcie.

Yep. Adorkable. It's 2011 and Marcie is strumming her ukulele and bugging Siri about the rain. She's even reading “War and Peace,” which is a pretty twee move on her part. I love the Peanuts and always will, but couldn't they have chosen a catchphrase that doesn't turn me into a vicious kite-eating tree?
