On second thought: Jake Gyllenhaal backs out of starring in ‘Motor City’

Another one bites the dust.

Though it looked yesterday like Jake Gyllenhaal would be replacing Dominic Cooper in director Albert Hughes’ “Motor City”, the deal has reportedly fallen apart due to scheduling conflicts, according to Deadline. Gyllenhaal allegedly wanted to push the start of principal photography to fit his calendar, but financier Dark Castle scoffed and the actor walked.

The action-thriller, about a wrongfully-imprisoned man who hunts down those responsible for framing him after being released from the slammer, has now lost two leading men in a short period of time. Dark Castle shouldn’t have a hard time finding another actor of similar caliber to Gyllenhaal, particularly considering that newly-minted Oscar nominee Gary Oldman is attached to play one of the other roles (Amber Heard is also attached).

As noted yesterday, the film is unique in that the script features only a single line of dialogue throughout.

Any ideas who might be good for the part instead? Sound off in the comments!
