Welcome to the March 10, 2015 edition of Outrage Watch, HitFix's (almost) daily rundown of all the things folks are peeved about in entertainment. Today's top story: seems Madonna is having her Patricia Arquette moment.
“Gay rights are way more advanced than women”s rights,” said the superstar in a new interview with Out magazine. She added: “It”s moved along for the gay community, for the African-American community, but women are still just trading on their ass. To me, the last great frontier is women. Women are still the most marginalized group.”
Uh-oh.
“Dating Tupac – and Basquiat – doesn”t make you an authority on the black experience, and being interviewed in Out doesn”t make you intimate with the gay one,” snipes Salon's Mary Elizabeth Williams.
“Madonna”s words stall progress for all social movements when she turns the fight for equality into a competition,” gripes Carbonated.tv's Jessica Renae Buxbaum.
“Comparing how things have 'moved along' for one [marginalized group] over another is willfully ignorant,” sighs HuffPost Live producer Alex Berg.

Why: In the wake of sentences being handed down in the case brought after Jones' tragic death on a Georgia train trestle last year, the former trade magazine has been slammed by the mother of the late camera assistant for publishing details of her autopsy on the site. “To the reporter, where is your own honor?” writes Elizabeth McCartha Jones in an open latter. “Is your desire to climb the rungs of a career ladder so important that you infringe upon the privacy and civility of a family whose daughter was tragically hit by a train? Is our pain of losing a daughter not enough that you feel the need to exploit Sarah”s dignity?”

Target: “Morning Joe” hosts Joe Scarborough and Mike Brzezinski, conservative pundit Bill Kristol
Why: Did you hear? Rap music causes racism! That's according to the geniuses over at “Morning Joe,” who slammed hip-hop artist Waka Flocka Flame on yesterday's show after the “No Hands” rapper pulled out of performing for the University of Oklahoma fraternity that was caught on video making racist chants.
“Two things,” Stewart said of their comments on Wednesday's episode of “The Daily Show.” “One, the kids on that bus were not repeating rap song they had heard. They were gleefully performing one of their fraternity”s old, let”s call them anti-negro spirituals, featuring a word the predates rap and probably folk and thought. Black rappers did not introduce that word into the vernacular.”
