‘Psych’ will end this March after 8 seasons

The moment that “Psycho” fans have long anticipated and dreaded finally came to pass on Wednesday (February 5) morning: USA announced that “Psych” will complete its eight season run next month.
The final episode of “Psych” has been officially set for Wednesday, March 26 at 9 p.m. It will be followed by “Psych After Show,” an hour-long live show with the cast and creator Steve Franks answering questions at a moderated event in Los Angeles.
“‘Psych’ has made an indelible imprint on the television landscape, with a unique brand of comedy,” statesChris McCumber, President of USA Network. “The final season celebrates the iconic characters that have made this show so beloved, and will be an exclamation point on the series” incredible run.  And while the series will wrap in March somehow I don”t believe we”ve heard the last of Shawn and Gus.”
“Psych” premiered in July of 2006 and celebrated its 100th episode last year. Anybody who has ever attended a Comic-Con panel for the mystery-comedy, which stars James Roday and Dule Hill, knows that “Psych” has a scarily devoted fanbase and a cast that at least does a convincing job of pretending they love working together.
“‘Psych’ is one of those rare projects that broke into the cultural mainstream,” blurbs Jeff Wachtel, President and Chief Content Officer, NBCU Cable Entertainment. “Its wild energy, fearless fun and engaging characters delivered an unrivaled series that will continue to be loved by fans for as long as there are ways to watch TV.”
As befits the relationship between the “Psych” cast and Psych-os, Roday and Hill filmed a special farewell message to fans. Check it out above!
