Robyn: Don’t expect new music from me anytime soon

For those who took Robyn’s release last week of a new music video for an old song (“U Should Know Better”) as a sign that there’s new material coming from the Swedish songstress, Robyn herself has a message for you: don’t expect any new Robyn music in the near future.

“No,” she said (err, “laughed heartily”) in a recent interview with the Guardian regarding the possibility of new music. “I mean, I’ve started working again. I don’t know what it will be – it’s too early to say if it’s going to be an album, or an EP. I don’t even know if it’s going to be my own music. We shall see. I see people messaging me on my Twitter and sometimes I feel bad because I’m nowhere near finished with the album – it’s probably going to be a while before you hear anything new from me.”

Robyn’s last full-length, “Body Talk,” was released in 2010. Last year she was nominated for Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronica Album at the Grammys.

Are you disappointed at the lack of new Robyn music? Sound off in the comments, then watch the “U Should Know Better” video below.
