We can relate: Rosario Dawson is ‘sad’ ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’ didn’t happen sooner

Wish Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” hadn’t taken quite so long to make it to the big screen? Cast member Rosario Dawson feels your pain.

“I’m sad it didn’t happen earlier, but yeah,” said the actress while talking to us about her forthcoming drama “Gimme Shelter.” “I’m excited for it finally coming out in August. It’s gonna be quite a trip.”

The original “Sin City” grossed over $150 million worldwide when it came out in 2005. In addition to Dawson – reprising her role as tough-minded prostitute Gail – the follow-up will also see the return of cast members Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Jaime King, Powers Boothe and Mickey Rourke alongside series newcomers including Josh Brolin, Jamie Chung, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ray Liotta and Eva Green.

“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” hits theaters on August 22, 2014.
