Watch: Scarlett Johannson, Jeremy Renner and Tom Hiddleston talk ‘The Avengers’

We’re betting that if you can’t get enough of news on “The Dark Knight Rises” than you’re just as obsessed to find out what’s going on with Joss Whedon’s “The Avengers.”  So, why not hear about one of next year’s most anticipated movies from “The Avengers” themselves?  That’s what happened Saturday when a number of Marvels’ greatest heroes appeared at Disney’s D23 Expo in Anahiem, CA.

Intrepid reporter Jenna Busch was able to snag the always charming Tom Hiddleston (aka Loki) who reveals that Whedon is allowing him to keep his interpretation of the Asgardian God of Mischief.  Cobie Smulders, playing the lesser known S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill, made the somewhat shocking revelation that people actually die in this movie (and we’re assuming she means recognizable characters).  Of course, the two big guns taking the time to chat were none other than the Black Widow and Hawkeye, better known as Scarlett Johansson and Jeremy Renner.

Johansson, finishing up her second go around as the Black Widow after “Iron Man 2,” was a bit more talkative than the two-time Oscar nominee.  However, she made it clear both “assassins” (well, according to Tony Stark at least) have it a lot tougher than the rest of The Avengers team.

“We spent the most time at the stunt gym because we don’t have fancy suits and super powers so we just do a lot of hand to hand combat and it’s a war.  It’s an absolute war,” Johannson says. “And I’ll be rehabbing my injuries for years.”
