SAN DIEGO – It's been over ten years since the release of Quentin Tarantino's “Kill Bill” movies, but Vivica A. Fox says her six months of training for the films paid off when it came to shooting her role in Syfy's “Sharknado 2.”
“Oh [it] absolutely [paid off], especially when I sliced up the shark with the samurai sword,” said Fox while promoting the sequel at San Diego Comic-Con. “That was definitely a flashback. Even Ian [Ziering], he was like, 'Yo, you're handling that sword pretty good!' So it brought back a lot of memories, and six months of training that I did for 'Kill Bill'…it all applied in 'Sharknado 2.'”
Also there to shill the film was Fox's co-star Judah Friedlander, who came onto the project after championing the first movie on social media.
“As I said before, this is the most important film ever made about climate change,” said Friedlander of the film's blunt-force dose of social commentary. “And with unity there's power.”
Oh, and in case you were wondering: yes, the comedian is exactly like his character on “30 Rock.”
“You know, I love the movie, and it's one of those things. You gotta share your experiences,” he said in the monotone voice of Frank Rossitano. “When something's so great, you can't keep it to yourself, you gotta share it with the world.”
Exactly, Judah.
