Sharon Stone Has Revealed Whether Her Marvel Character Is a Hero or Villain

Last month we were all taken by surprise when Sharon Stone let slip she has a role in a Marvel movie. She didn't tell us who she'd be playing at the time or which movie it would be but a new interview may have revealed her hero status and more.

Guesting on The Late Late Show with James Corden along with Marvel's Winter Soldier, Sebastian Stan, Stone revealed “I”m just doing a wee part in a Marvel movie, upcoming, and I can”t tell because you know, you have to sign confidentiality agreements. But I”m going to do a wee part in a Marvel movie now.”

The conclusion many came to was she'd be taking on the important role of the original Wasp, Janet Van Dyne (mother to Evangeline Lilly's Hope and lost wife of Michael Douglas' Hank), in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Were we right?

AARP conducted a more recent interview with Stone, Jane Fonda, and Alfre Woodard. Woodard, you may recall, has already taken a spot in the MCU playing grieving mother Miriam in Captain America: Civil War. However, she's going to take on a larger role soon as Mariah Dillard, aka Black Mariah, in Netflix's Luke Cage. Here's what AARP reported on both her and Stone:

Meanwhile, Woodard and Stone are about to become very familiar to the highly sought-after comic-book-film crowd: Woodard's character is a villain in Marvel's anticipated Netflix series Luke Cage; Stone has been cast as a superhero – she'll only reveal that her secret power is heat – in a yet-to-be-named movie, also for Marvel.

And I guess because it's AARP, they didn't ask for a followup on this. But now we know Stone is definitely playing a good guy and she has superpowers that include heat.

Unfortunately, that doesn't help us out a ton. Though we need to consider Stone may just be talking in a very general sense about the powers since she's not a big nerd like us. She very well could be talking about Wasp's stinger blasts here. There are other Marvel Comics heroes with heat powers, like Abigail Brand for instance, but many are not currently within Marvel's rights to use. Any other thoughts on which hero she might be?
