‘The Simpsons’: Series to bring back fan favorite for Halloween special

With apologies to The Return of the Living Dead, look who”s back from the grave and ready to party.

EW.com is reporting that the late Frank Grimes (a.k.a. Grimey), Homer Simpson”s one-time nerd of a co-worker, is coming back to the long-running series for its annual Halloween show, “Treehouse of Horror.” The publication notes that Grimes, who died protecting the world from Homer”s incompetence, will even have a brief speaking role in what is The Simpsons 600th (!) episode.

EP Al Jean told the publication that the ghost of Grimes, Sideshow Bob and two other characters form “a sinister squadron…to try to kill the Simpsons.”

The Simpsons “Treehouse of Horror XXVII” is slated to air on  October 16.
