TV Ratings: ‘Fresh Off The Boat’ rises, down ‘NCIS’ duo leads CBS Tuesday

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, February 17, 2015.

“NCIS” and “NCIS: New Orleans” both dipped week-to-week, but CBS still swept Tuesday night for each primetime hour in all measures.

Beyond CBS, the night's top show was ABC's “Fresh Off The Boat,” which improved on last week's 8 p.m. episode numbers, though the freshman comedy couldn't tease more than a so-so premiere out of “Repeat After Me.” This was an important week for “Fresh Off The Boat,” with NBC's “The Voice” likely to bulldoze the competition starting next Tuesday.

Meanwhile, there were small upticks for FOX's 9 p.m. comedies and a small downtick for NBC's “About a Boy.”

And the penultimate week of “Parks and Recreation,” went up a little, but still couldn't compete with The CW's “The Flash.”

On to the numbers…

Among adults 18-49, CBS averaged a 2.0 rating for Tuesday night, tops in the key demographic. FOX was second with a 1.5 key demo rating, followed by the 1.3 key demo rating for ABC. Both The CW and NBC averaged a 1.1 key demo rating for Tuesday.

Overall, CBS averaged an estimated 13.71 million viewers and an 8.5 rating/14 share for Tuesday night. There was a big drop to ABC's 2.6/4 and 4.14 million viewers. FOX and NBC both did a 2.4/4, with FOX averaging 4.11 million viewers to the 3.71 million for NBC. The CW averaged nearly 3 million viewers and a 1.8/3 for Tuesday night.

8 p.m. – “NCIS” delivered Tuesday's best numbers with 17.71 million viewers and a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49 in the 8 p.m. hour. FOX's “MasterChef Junior” got a big bump from last week to averaged 5.41 million viewers and a 1.8 key demo rating for second. ABC was third for the hour with “Fresh Off The Boat” (6.14 million and a 1.9 key demo) and the premiere of “Repeat After Me” (4.34 million and a 1.4 key demo). The CW's “The Flash” averaged 3.705 million viewers and a 1.4 key demo rating, beating the 2.7 million viewers and 1.1 key demo rating for NBC's “Parks and Recreation” episodes.

9 p.m. – CBS stayed in first with 14.31 million viewers and a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49 for “NCIS: New Orleans” in the 9 p.m. hour. ABC's “Marvel's Agent Carter” was flat with 4.135 million viewers and a 1.4 key demo rating, which was enough for second. FOX was third for the hour with “New Girl” (3.11 million and a 1.4 key demo) and “The Mindy Project” (2.51 million and a 1.1 key demo). The CW's “Supernatural” averaged 2.29 million viewers and a 0.9 key demo rating, edging out NBC's “Marry Me” (2.07 million and a 0.8 key demo) and “About a Boy” (2.38 million and a 0.7 key demo) for the hour.

10 p.m. – “Person of Interest” completed CBS's sweep with 9.1 million viewers and a 1.6 rating among adults 18-49, beating the 6.19 million viewers and 1.4 key demo rating for NBC's “Chicago Fire.” ABC's “Countdown to the Oscars” special generated little interest with 3.055 million viewers and a 0.8 key demo rating.
