Watch: Vera Farmiga on ‘The Conjuring’ success – ‘It hits you on a spiritual level’

“The Conjuring” star Vera Farmiga thinks she can explain the supernatural horror film’s mega-successful opening weekend.

“It’s a good film,” the 2013 Emmy nominee told me at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday. “This is the kind of film that will hit you on such a visceral level. You know, you pay eleven, twelve bucks for a movie ticket, you wanna feel something, you wanna be transported, you wanna be…there’s gotta be some evocation of emotion…it hits you on a spiritual level. It will challenge your notions of what God means to you.”

“The Conjuring” hit No. 1 at the box-office over the weekend with a take of more than $41 million.
