Watch: Zac Efron, Halle Berry, Robert De Niro party in ‘New Year’s Eve’ trailer

“There’s gonna be more celebs here than in rehab,” says Katherine Heigel’s character at the end of the brand new trailer for “New year’s Eve.” She’s referring to the Times Square celebration of the holiday, of course, but she’s also calling out the film’s extraordinary cast that includes Zac Efrom, Halle Berry, Hilary Swank, Seth Myers, Zac Efron, Michelle Pfeiffer, Ludacris, Sarah Jessica Parker, Robert De Niro (how has he not gotten a new agent yet?) and a boatload more.

It’s all in service of a depressingly calculated romantic comedy mosaic in which myriad couples, old and new, have crazy connections on December 31. It’s clearly meant to recall director Garry Marshall’s previous “Valentine’s Day,” which appears to be the exact same thing, just set on a different day and in a different city. But that relatively low-budget film grossed over $200 million worldwide, so why not just do it again? Jessica Biel and Ashton Kutcher are even back for another round.

What do you think of the trailer? Are you excited to see it?
