Wednesday Ratings: ‘Criminal Minds’ repeat, ‘MasterChef’ lead again

Wednesday's ratings are pretty dull with a repeat of “Criminal Minds” still serving as the centerpiece for CBS' overall win and a new “MasterChef” leading FOX to a slim victory in the key demographic.

Things just aren't as much fun without live sporting events and whatnot.

Let's get to the numbers…

Among adults 18-49, FOX averaged a 1.2 rating for Wednesday night, tops in the key demographic, narrowly beating the 1.1 key demo rating for NBC. ABC's 0.9 key demo rating and the 0.8 key demo rating for CBS followed, with The CW averaging a 0.3 key demo rating for the night.

Overall, though, CBS averaged an estimated 5.46 million viewers and a 3.7 rating/7 share to comfortably win Wednesday primetime. FOX was third with 3.84 million viewers and a 2.3/4, followed closely by ABC's 2.5/5 and 3.66 million viewers and NBC's 2.2/4 and 3.56 million viewers. The CW averaged 900,000 viewers and a 0.6/1 for the night.

8 p.m. – “The Briefcase” won the 8 p.m. hour overall for CBS with 5.2 million  viewers and finished tied for third with a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49. FOX's “MasterChef” was a close second with 4.71 million viewers and easily won the hour with a 1.5 key demo rating. ABC's repeats of “The Middle” and “The Goldbergs” averaged 4.12 million viewers and a 0.9 key demo rating, topping the 2.83 million viewers and 0.8 key demo rating for NBC's “I Can Do That” repeat. The CW's “Arrow” repeat averaged 992,000 viewers and a 0.3 key demo rating.

9 p.m. – CBS' repeat of “Criminal Minds” was Wednesday's most watched show with 5.91 million viewers, but finished fourth for the hour with a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49. ABC's repeats of “Modern Family” and “The Goldbergs” averaged 3.82 million viewers and a 1.0 key demo rating, compared to the 3.695 million viewers and 1.1 key demo rating for NBC's “American Ninja Warrior” repeat. FOX's new “Bullseye” finished fourth with 2.96 million viewers and tied for second with a 1.0 key demo rating. A “Supernatural” repeat averaged 808,000 viewers and a 0.2 key demo rating.

10 p.m. – CBS closed its overall sweep with 5.28 million viewers for a “CSI: Cyber” repeat, which was third with a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49. NBC's “American Ninja Warrior” repeat was second with 4.16 million viewers and won the hour with a 1.4 key demo rating, followed by the 3.05 million viewers and 0.8 key demo rating for ABC's “Celebrity Wife Swap.”
