Obama and Romney won’t face each other down until November, but in the meantime there’s a much more important election to play attention to.
Jay Roach’s upcoming “The Campaign” hits theaters in just a few weeks, and Warner Bros. has released 6 new clips showing funny men Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis as to candidates locked in mortal combat for a congressional seat.
Ferrell plays care-free Cam Brady, an incumbent congressmen repping a small North Carolina district, while Galifiankis plays the challenger, the doofy, asexual Marty Huggins. In the first clip (above), Cam shows Marty how to trash-talk. Take notes for the next time you find yourself in a televised political debate.
Candidates’ often times tenuous ties to religion are also spoofed in “The Campaign.” Cam hilariously butchers the Lord’s Prayer while shamelessly trying to woo constituents in this next clip that also features Dylan McDermott and Jason Sudeikis.
Although he’s clearly an underdog, Marty proves he’s up to the task of facing the much more popular Cam Brady in this clip:

In the last clip, Marty and his family share secrets with each other before the press gets a hold of them.
Roach, who directed the more dramatic political “Game Change” last year for HBO, also directed the “Austin Powers” films.
