NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Trolls Fans, Suggests Expanding Playoffs

Hoping everyone will quickly forget about the punishment he doled out to New Orleans Saints players implicated in the bounty scandal being vacated by a real commissioner if he changes the subject, Roger Goodell suggested expanding the playoffs to include 14 or 16 teams this evening at the December Special League Meeting.

“Right now we’re with 12 teams obviously. We’ll look at probably 14 or 16 teams,” Goodell said.

So what would that mean to KSK pundit Christmas Ape’s Updated NFL Playoff Scenarios? Well, let’s take a look.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA NEW YORK JETS! Fireman Ed gave up too soon! Could you imagine going into a playoff week wondering if Tim Tebow would start, considering he has a better record of torching the Steelers in the playoffs than Sanchez does? The Bills, Browns and Chargers are bubble teams! For everyone saying this would be worth it for television money, again, the Bills, Browns and Chargers are some of the smallest television markets in the hunt under Goodell’s proposal.

Ooh, I like this a playoff possibility even more. Puts the Saints in the hunt, and coming back to the reason why we’re all being treated to this little bit of misdirection, makes Goodell’s sanctions meaningless.

Well played, Lord Trodell. You brought up a topic the league competition committee has dismissed before so everyone will talk about something other than your recent missteps for the next few hours.
