Week 1 Early Games Open Thread

There is a Zubaz truck parked outside Ralph Wilson Stadium, letting the world know that football is back, even if there’s a decent possibility that Zubaz trucks are parked on every street in Buffalo at all times. Anyway, this man is ready. Is E.J. Manuel ready? Probably not. But he stands a marginally better chance than Jeff Tuel. Let’s just be grateful for that.

The thing about Week 1 is that I’m excited for every game in a way that I won’t be the rest of the season. Give it a few weeks and some of these games I will be absolutely appalled by. For instance, the Dolphins at the Browns. Ye gods. But right now I would giddily watch the entire thing if it were the only game on TV. Because months of being deprived of football has made all the changes these teams made over the off-season incredibly intriguing. At least for a week or two until it becomes obvious that they’re just as bad and unwatchable as before.

With that said, here’s your early game slate, as rated by KSK’s not-at-all subjective, rigorously scientificated five-star system:

New England at Buffalo **
Tennessee at Pittsburgh **
Atlanta at New Orleans ****
Tampa Bay at New York Jets ***
Kansas City at Jacksonville **
Seattle at Carolina ***
Cincinnati at Chicago ****
Miami at Cleveland **
Minnesota at Detroit **
Oakland at Indianapolis **
