Harry Potter Fans Have A New Home At A Magically-Themed Bar In Toronto

A new bar just opened in Toronto, and it’s Harry Potter themed. Known as The Lockhart, the bar features drinks like “The Shacklebolt” and “Ludo’s Debt,” as well as a neon heart sign with the famous last words in J.K. Rowling’s series, “All was well,” a sly Deathly Hallows sign, and many other easter eggs hidden in the decor.

The easter eggs also double as cool decorations, to those who are indifferent to Pottermania. “Without knowing any of the Harry Potter stuff, you already will think of this as a cool bar. You’d come here and see the stag’s head on the wall and go ‘Wow, I love that,’ but a Harry Potter fan might say ‘That’s a Patronus,'” co-owner Paris Xerx told Now Toronto.

Fans and non-fans alike can also enjoy the Potter-themed drinks. “The Shacklebolt” is like a Dark and Stormy, made with homemade ginger beer and “Gosling rum infused with 10 different spices.” The owners are also looking into offering a Butterbeer drink, just as soon as they find a similar name that doesn’t have a copyright already in place. The rest of the food and drink menu isn’t related to Harry Potter (in fact, The Lockhart’s Dr. Manhattan refers to the popular Watchmen character), so anybody who loves bars can judge The Lockhart on its own merits, whether they also love J.K. Rowling’s beloved series or not.
