Get Your Crayons Out, Because The Second ‘Harry Potter’ Adult Coloring Book Has Hit Stores

Mindful Muggles, rejoice! Scholastic has just released the second Harry Potter-themed coloring book. And, keeping with the theme of this November’s upcoming Harry Potter film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the book is titled Magical Creatures.

“Relive favorite scenes like Harry, Ron, and Hermione’s escape from Gringotts on the back of a dragon and explore intricate creature-themed patterns in this interactive journey through the wizarding world,” the book’s description reads. From the looks of the sample pages Scholastic sent us, we’re hooked, if not a little bit intimidated by how intricate the drawings are.

Adult coloring books
are currently a big effing deal, with proponents touting the mindfulness and stress-reduction properties they provide to colorers—without the pressure of having to stare at a blank page and start being creative.

And in the case of the Harry Potter coloring books, you can remember the competition for the Goblet of Fire as you color in a page of merpeople, or you can think of Dobby and all he did for Harry as you choose what shade to use on the ears of the house-elves.

Magical Creatures is just the second in the line of coloring books. The third, Magical Places and Characters, is slated to arrive in stores on March 29, while a fourth book, Artifacts, is coming at the end of June. You might want to add a couple of extra packs of colored pencils to your shopping cart in preparation.
