This Metal Video Is Also The Scorchingest Cooking Demonstration You’ll Ever Witness

Several aspects of this video don’t make sense upon first viewing. First, there’s a marrow-melting metalcore song playing while a woman is cooking shepherd’s pie. There’s a cat and a kitchen fire, and the woman appears to be lipsyncing along with the voice of a death-metal god. Only some of this is not what it seems. Actually, the voice belongs to the woman, Linzey Rae, the lead vocalist for The Anchor (a metalcore band hailing from Denver). There’s some proof coming on that end.

On New Year’s Eve, Rae whipped up a Shepherd’s Pie in her kitchen for a “tutorial” called “Metal Kitchen.” The video went viral thanks to all of the madness and amusing interludes within the footage. Was the fire real? We’ll never know, but no one and nothing (not even the pie) suffered injury. The Anchor created this video for their Facebook page with all proceeds going to The Ghost Inside, another metalcore band whose tour bus crashed last year.

Did you still want to see (and hear) proof than the voice in this video belongs to Rae? You got it. Here’s Rae in the recording studio. This may not seem like airtight evidence for anyone who hasn’t seen The Anchor play live, but I want to believe this lovely young woman sings like a 47-year-old man who subsists on a diet full of whiskey.
