Here’s Your Chance To Attend ‘Modern Craftsman,’ A Pop-Up Tavern Experience

How would you like the opportunity to attend an exclusive event featuring some of the most dynamic and masterful craftsmen of our time? For the past year, UPROXX has been seeking out and following the stories of passionate artisans, those who transform the way we think about our place in the world, in our award-winning original series Human: Modern Pioneers. In celebration of the show’s second season, UPROXX is partnering up with Coors Banquet to bring a selection of this year’s most enterprising craftsmen under one roof for a night of entertainment, dancing, and craft indulgence. And you have the chance to join in on the fun.

The exclusive, invitation-only pop-up event will take place in the San Francisco Bay area the evening of November 16th, and will feature several onsite activations for guests to enjoy. Activities will include barbering services (yes, you can get shaved), catered local eats, and the chance to enjoy cold, complimentary Coors Banquet brew.

Of most note, three of the featured stars from the Modern Pioneers series will be in attendance with onsite activations of their own. Guests and fans of the show will have the opportunity to hang with the likes of Matthew Cummings, Nick Pourfard, and Erik Sun. You can get better acquainted with their talents below:

Matthew Cummings: Glass Blower

As the owner of Pretentious Glass Co., Matthew has redefined the typical beer glass and how we enjoy this centuries old beverage. Belly up and try Coors Banquet from a handcrafted lager glass and taste the award winning beer like never before. Matthew will bring prototypes of his glasses and finished products for display and giveaways. Guests will be able to learn about his process, and check out the tools he uses to accomplish modern works of art.

Nick Pourfard: Guitar Maker

Fusing his passions for skateboarding, music and design, Nick began building handmade guitars out of his broken skate decks. Prisma Guitars was born, quickly making an impact in the San Francisco music and skate scenes. Get your hands on one of these unique and beautiful instruments, marvel at their ingenuity, and shred (in more ways than one).

Erik Sun: Chef and Sustainable Hunter

As a master huntsman and spear-fisherman, Erik pursues the very best ingredients that nature has to offer. His cuisine brings a visceral flavor to the table. Enjoy some of his world-class dishes which take the notion of “farm-to-table”. Attendees will be able to experience Erik’s cuisine with a sampling of his latest hunt or catch.
