The couple pictured above, Matt and Abby, were starting to get a little sick of their family and friends asking them when they were planning on having a baby. In addition to it really not being anyone’s business, it becomes tedious to have to explain oneself over and over and over again. But photographer Elisha Minnette helped the couple come up with a clever and adorable response to the baby pressure… a stereotypical newborn baby photo shoot with their new puppy Humphry.
It helps that Humphry, who was adopted from the breeder right before this photo shoot took place, is really, obscenely adorable. But the fact that Minnette, Matt and Abby have such a great sense of humor about this is a great way to poke fun at couples who have taken a lot of advantage of having babies in the age of oversharing.
Plus, it was a great excuse to spoil a newly-adopted puppy. Said Minnette:
“The shoot was hilarious. Everything went so smoothly. The pup was enjoying every second of it, and all the treats he was getting!”
While this shoot was done in great humor, I think we all know that there are plenty of people who would take this pretty seriously. And if I don’t see professional newborn puppy photographers end up on Portlandia, I’m going to write a strongly worded letter.
