Your eyes do see clearly, for this woman truly went surfing in high heels. She’s not exactly a newbie, which is how she pulled off this feat. French professional surfer Maud Le Car dug in and shredded harder than most humans could manage with bare feet. Not only that, but Maud donned a cocktail dress and jewelry as she rode some sweet waves. As a result, the 23-year-old athlete is now an internet surfing sensation.
According to this video’s description (from Almo Film on YouTube), Maude “wants to prove that surfing is not just about glamour,” because “surfing is one of the most physically demanding sports there today.” Maud also provided a little explanation for her stunt, just to reassure the world that she didn’t surf in nightclub attire for attention. Maud says she “lost a bet,” which is how she ended up in this potentially embarrassing situation. Actually, the “bet” may have been an excuse to create a potentially popular internet video. If that’s the case, should we really complain?
It all worked out though. Maud remedied her lost “bet” and landed a viral video at the same time. No wetsuit necessary.
