Colbert Eviscerates Fox News For Criticism Of Obama’s Paper Clip

In case you haven’t been paying attention, this is how ridiculous things have gotten at Fox News lately: they’re attacking President Obama for his use of a cheap, or in their words “chintzy,” paper clip to hold together his new jobs bill. To further emphasize the point, the New York Post — also owned by withered phone hacking gargoyle Rupert Murdoch — also blasted him for using a paper clip in their lede of a story on the jobs bill.

President Obama’s plan to reverse the nation’s staggering jobless rate is held together with a paper clip!

“Here it is,” Obama said, waving a copy of his jobs plan during a ceremony in the White House Rose Garden yesterday, an enormous paper clip binding the pages together.

Yes, it really has come to this. And the saddest part of it all is that if Obama had bound the bill together instead of using a clip, they would probably be blasting him for wasteful government spending in the midst of a economic crisis. “Why couldn’t the president been more frugal and just used a paper clip?”, the tool below would probably be saying.

Anyway, Colbert had some fun with this madness last night and you should watch him doing so above.

In fairness to Fox, not all of their hosts are always evil robots. Megyn Kelly has her evil robot moments, but this takedown of Dr. Keith Ablow for saying that Chaz Bono on Dancing With The Stars would lead to a rise in transgender people is kinda great…
