As you may have heard, Sarah Palin confirmed what everyone pretty much already knew on Wednesday night: that she won’t run for president — because she can much more easily
destroy influence America by posting notes to Facebook and ranting incoherently and unchallenged on Fox News than she can being governor of Alaska or leader of the free world. Yawn. Whatever.
Hilariously, in one last act of genius and humanitarianism, Steve Jobs died barely an hour after she’d made her big announcement, effectively throwing cold water all over her news. In fact, I have friends who work at newspapers who told me that their front pages were set to feature her on their covers on Thursday, but then reversed course after the news of Jobs’ death broke. So you may have missed Sarah’s news in the midst of the Jobs’ death news. So once again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you Steve.
Anyway, in the course of explaining her decision on Fox, Palin took a subtle shot at Chris Christie, THE Republican politician who isn’t running I was most hoping would run, for making a “big deal” out of his announcement not to run.
Pot. Kettle. Black.
Jon Stewart, of course, was not going to let this pass, thankfully.
And here’s Stewart paying tribute to Jobs at the end of the show…
For good measure, here’s Colbert also paying tribute to Jobs…
