If there’s one thing we know Drake loves, it’s supporting star athletes. Drizzy seems to take as much pleasure in being a fan of the game as he does owning the stage in his own sold out arenas. Today he showed some love to a recent UFC champ, none other than Conor McGregor, a fighter so popular that he’s breaking PPV records that have stood for years. Looks like McGregor attended Drake’s show last night at the Staples Center, one in a string Summer Sixteen dates for the tour in Los Angeles.
Here’s Drake’s caption on the photo of the two of them together:
“We are young and in control. All we want is good service on a yacht…is that too much to ask?” – @thenotoriousmma aka The Defaz King
McGregor attended and posted his own shot with Drizzy:
He praised Drake’s hospitality for one thing, then reminded all of us he’s Irish by spelling honor with a “u”:
“This is what being the youngest and the greatest at the same time looks like! It was an honour to watch this man perform last night! @champagnepapi much love and respect my brother, you are an ANIMAL! Thank you for the hospitality! #TheRevengeTour
This isn’t the first time Drake has shown his love for the Irish fighter, though. Back in March, he posted another Instagram — this one just a celebratory shot of McGregor — on the night before UFC 196, when the fighter infamously lost to Diaz and obsessed over it.
Their rematch last month, however, was a different story, and McGregor seems to be all smiles basking in his rather enormous payouts. McGregor also hung out with his Irish compatriot Bono and music industry royalty Jimmy Iovine at the show, not too shabby when it comes to spending a Saturday night away from the cage.
